Types of Wrapping Paper Storage

Style 1:  Wrapping Paper Organizer

This is the most common type of wrapping paper storage. They come in either an upright plastic storage container or the popular under-the-bed style. Both save space in their own way. Rubbermaid and Master Craft are the industry leaders when it comes to gift wrap storage containers. Most models of plastic wrapping paper organizer have a clear plastic or vinyl area so you can easily see what type of paper and supplies you have on hand.

Style 2:  The Paper Rack

This style of wrapping paper storage makes use of several steel, aluminum or wooden thin shafts running around 3 to 4 feet in length. Using two thick wood panels as bases or feet, place the shafts atop each other with a distance of 4 to 5 inches. You can secure the shafts on the sides of the base by putting holes and letting them slide through. You then simply hang each wrapping paper design on each of the shafts just like the typical store setup. For the ribbon storage, you can put another wide wooden panel at the very top of the rack (table-like appearance from the front view) and place shoe boxes with small holes on the side (with the ribbons inside) with a piece of each ribbon protruding from the holes for easy cutting when needed.

Style 3:  The Drawer

There is no actual work required on this one. It will just require that you have spare drawer space wide enough to accommodate the wrapping paper. This type of wrapping paper storage lets you store a lot in each drawer. Simply roll the papers in a tube-like fashion, held firmly by a rubber band or tape and store them in the drawer.

Style 4:  The Hanger

This type of wrapping paper storage is somehow similar to style number two in terms of storage but requires almost zero labor to do. Simply look around your house for a pants hanger (the one with several shafts) and hang your wrapping paper on each shaft. These pants hangers are also great for ribbon storage: The hanger type which has its shafts detach from the sides will allow you to insert each and every ribbon design you have through the ribbon wheel holes. Tie a spare set scissors at the edge of one of the shafts to make it always ready for cutting.

That’s it, four simple and hassle-free ways of storing your unused wrapping paper. Sure, wrapping paper might be cheap and you might rather just buy new ones each and every time. But a little creative idea and utilizing unused stuff or furniture around the house are actually all you need to keep things in order and save you a couple of bucks. Not to mention you are doing your own little way of conserving paper and help in saving the environment through the use of these nifty wrapping paper storage techniques.
